With close voting, Rafinha Carvalho was the winner of the 2008 edition of Big Brother Brazil and took home the prize for R$ 1 million . There were 75.6 million votes, Rafinha won 50.15% and Gyselle Soares second place, with 49.85% — earning R$100,000.
Due to the volume of voting, the program’s website went down for a few minutes. Furthermore, according to Pedro Bial, presenter of the reality show at the time, it was necessary to extend the voting as there was a technical tie between the BBB 8 finalists.
During his speech to the champion, Bial also recalled that Rafinha joined BBB to “replace the selected substitute” and that his participation was only confirmed three days before the start of the program .

That year, the winner stated that he would invest the prize money in two of his passions: music and tattoos.
Currently, the former BBB is the owner of a tattoo studio in Campinas, a municipality in the interior of São Paulo. He also works on social media as a digital influencer.
Remember Rafinha’s trajectory on BBB 8
Seen as the “good guy” during the season, Rafinha gained the trust of the other participants with a game marked by calm and observation.
In 2023, he even rebutted his confinement colleague, when Gyselle said in an interview that she should have won the main prize.
“I won leader, I was an ‘angel’ three times, I was a ‘monster’, I answered three big phones, I went to three walls, I won three cars and a motorcycle, I had fun at all the parties and I played to win. This award is mine and always will be,” Rafinha wroteat the time, on his Instagram profile.
Next edition
The next edition of BBB is scheduled to debut on the same day January 13, 2025 and must maintain the period of 100 days long ending on April 22nd.
