Why cheap Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3 headphones are interesting: game mode and noise reduction on calls

With the phasing out of the 3.5mm jack in smartphones, some manufacturers began to release their own wireless headphones. Among them is Xiaomi, which already has several models of TWS headphones in its arsenal. Today, September 6, the Chinese giant launched the Redmi Buds 3, a $ 25 wireless headset, on its crowdfunding platform. For this money, the user gets support for aptX, Bluetooth 5.2 and cVc noise reduction technology for voice calls.

Externally, Redmi Buds 3 copy Apple AirPods. These are the brand’s first in-ear headphones with touch controls and IP54 water and dust resistance. The weight of one earphone is only 4.5 grams, and together with the case, the gadget weighs 42 grams. Inside is a Qualcomm QCC3040 chip that supports adaptive audio quality and low latency, as well as 12mm moving coil drivers. The claimed battery life is 5 hours or 20 hours with a charging case. There is support for fast charging – 10 minutes of charge is enough to listen to music for 1.5 hours.

The key features of the Redmi Buds 3 are low latency gaming mode and built-in dual microphones. There is no active noise cancellation, but there is noise cancellation technology for cVc calls that can reduce echo and ambient noise to achieve clearer audio during a call. The manufacturer also announced support for True Wireless Mirroring for synchronous transmission of sound between the headphones, increasing the stability of the connection and reducing the number of disconnections. And yes, the earbuds can automatically stop playing when you take them off, just like AirPods.
