Since the beginning of March, Russian holders of Visa and MasterCard cards have lost the opportunity to use the Apple Pay payment service, however, Mir cardholders remained “on horseback” for some time. Now the last loophole for Russian Apple Pay users has been closed.
As it became known today, Apple officially notified the National Payment Card System (NSPK) of suspending the further use of Mir payment system cards in the Apple Pay electronic wallet.
Russian users of Apple products, left without the possibility of contactless payment, to which many are already accustomed, could not but react to such an event. As a result, offended users brought down the rating of the Wallet branded application (Wallet), in which bank and bonus cards, travel cards, boarding passes and much more are stored on Apple devices. Including using Wallet, bank cards are connected, which are used to pay using Apple Pay.
At the time of writing, the app’s rating in the App Store is only 1.5 out of a possible 5, which is accompanied by a lot of angry and frustrated comments from users. Here is an example of one of the most neutral reviews:
