Why was it necessary to refuse bangs? Blueprint confirms iPhone 14 Pro won’t get a lot of extra screen real estate

Sources have published an exact drawing of the iPhone 14 Pro smartphone, indicating all dimensions, including the dimensions of the phone itself, the camera unit, the distance to the buttons, and so on.

The drawing also shows that the screen will have three sensors, two of which will be in an oval cutout, and the third in a round one.

The blueprint confirms that the new cutouts won’t add much extra screen real estate compared to bangs, though sources have said this before. It’s probably important for designers to make the new smartphone different from its predecessor and all Apple smartphones that have been released since 2017.

According to the leaks, the oval cutout will be for the selfie camera and infrared camera, while the round cutout will be for the dot projector. The last two modules are needed for the Face ID user recognition system

The rest of the design features appear to be unchanged from the current generation iPhone 13. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will reportedly retain the notches.
