The protagonist of “Wicked” , Cynthia Erivo 37, gave his blessing to the fans who want to sing along while watching the film in cinemas.
The actress was asked, during an interview with NBC on Thursday (28), about her opinion about fans who want to sing out loud in theaters while watching the film – the subject generated controversy on social media while some defended it and others complained about the idea.
“Good. I’m OK with that. We spent this time singing alone, it’s time for everyone else to join in. It’s wonderful,” replied Erivo.
To avoid misunderstandings, some cinemas in the United States will even open specific sessions so that fans can voice their voices alongside the characters.
“Wicked” is a film adaptation of the famous Broadway musical of the same name. The film stars Cynthia Erivo (in the role of Elphaba) and Ariana Grande (in the role of Glinda) and works as a prelude to the classic “The Wizard of Oz” .
