THE Universal Pictures released this Thursday (5) a new preview of “Wicked”, an adaptation of the famous Broadway musical that will have Ariana Grande in the cast.
In Brazil, the film will premiere on November 21st of this year. The work will be directed by Jon M. Chu .(“Crazy Rich Asians “) and will have a sequel already confirmed for 2025.
“Wicked” tells the story of Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo nominated for an Oscar for “Harriet “), a young woman who, because she has green skin, is misunderstood and does not yet know her true power, and Glinda (Ariana Grande), a popular and ambitious woman who has yet to discover her true identity.
The two meet at Shiz University in the Land of Oz and become friends. However, after an encounter with the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, their paths diverge, causing them to become the Good Witch of the South and the Wicked Witch of the West, characters from “The Wizard of Oz”.
