Widow of Chico Anysio opens up about diagnosis amid fight over inheritance

Malga Di Paula, widow of Chico Anysio, spoke for the first time about the fight involving the inheritance left by the comedian, who passed away in 2012. On Record’s ‘Domingo Espetacular’, the businesswoman said she was diagnosed with depression.

The diagnosis was made amid accusations by the comedian’s children that she had stolen Anysio’s assets. For Malga, she was indeed not “efficient” as an inventor, but this does not justify the attribution of a crime.

“I was an inventory clerk for many years and at no point did I have the opportunity to speak because people said I wasn’t efficient. And I agree. I think I was always very sick and I didn’t have the right legal assistance. I really wasn’t efficient”, he began.

“I just think that if I had talked properly, I would have given up the inventory. It didn’t need to be this traumatic. They say I took money, I want them to prove it. I challenge you to prove that I took a penny”, she continues.

In the interview, she also states that since she was removed from the role of inventor, she has no longer had contact with any of Chico Anysio’s children and that she tried to reach a consensus with her stepchildren, but without success.

“They didn’t want to talk to me because the lawyer doesn’t want them to talk to me. I would talk to them, they were my family, I love them. I would welcome everyone and we would have dinner together like we did hundreds of times”, he points out.
