The Pernambuco Civil Police arrested three people suspected of involvement in the death of 66 -year -old Charles José Mamede Arruda, found dead in a forest area in Camaragibe, in the Recife Metropolitan Region, last March 30. The victim had survived a shot at six days before the murder.
During a press conference, delegate Juliana Bernat of the Department of Homicides and Protection of Persons (DHPP), said that among the prisoners are the victim’s wife, her lover and the son’s son.
The trio would have acted moved by financial interests, both in Charles’ money and his stepmother, an elderly woman of over 80, from whom Charles’s wife was a caregiver. “This lady has a robust retirement. She has saved money. She donated money to Charles, had already given some goods to Charles. The purpose of the suspicion was to end Charles and stay with all that financial part,” said the delegate.
For the police, the crime was premeditated and articulated with coldness. The day before the crime, the victim had arrived at home at 8 pm and took a high dosage of soothing. At about 10 pm, Charles’s car from his wife left the scene.
