The team of the largest Russian online retailer Wildberries announced the launch of a new service – the delivery of ready-made meals from restaurants. From the point of view of users, this is, in fact, a new analogue of Yandex.Food and Delivery Club, but technically everything is arranged somewhat differently there.
At the moment, the service operates in Moscow within the Moscow Ring Road; at the first stage, delivery is carried out from the Baku Boulevard restaurant chain. As the developers promise, in the future, the number of restaurants and the geography of delivery are planned to be actively expanded by joining new partners.
Unlike Yandex.Food and Delivery Club, delivery is carried out only by the restaurant services themselves. In real time, they receive information about orders, after which they organize their logistics to buyers within a pre-selected territorial zone.
Earlier, in May 2021, the Wildberries team organized express delivery of perishable, frozen food and flowers. The first partners of the online retailer were Food City and Flower Ryad. Since July, the delivery of food products from the Usachevsky Rynok gastronomic cluster has also opened.
