A wind-driven wildfire on a hillside above the southern California city of San Bernardino burned several homes and forced evacuations before it was brought under control on Tuesday (6), firefighters said.
Video from local television station KTLA 5 showed at least five homes burned after the fast-moving fire swept through luxury homes overlooking the city of 220,000 people, located about 55 miles east of Los Angeles.
The fire started Monday (5) and burned 40 hectares before being mostly contained, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
The cause of the fire was being investigated.
