Will “Transformers: The Beginning” have a sequel? Producer has plans for a sequel

The new film in the franchise, “Transformers: The Beginning “, hits theaters this Thursday (26). However, as is common in Hollywood, sequels are almost inevitable and many are already curious about the future of the car and robot saga before even watching the launch.

In an interview with CNN the producer Lorenzo of Bonaventura ahead of the franchise “Transformers ” since 2007, revealed that there are plans for a sequel to “The Beginning”. “But for that, ‘The Beginning’ needs to be successful”, he said.

“However, if we are successful, I confess that we already have some ideas in mind. In particular, we are not finished exploring the relationship between Megatron and Optimus; we have many ideas about how that relationship evolves,” he said.

“As for live-action, an important consideration is that these characters are more developed because we are not focusing on humans . We can’t go back to the old approach of portraying robots; we need to create better-developed characters in live-action films. So we need to figure out how to finance that,” he explained.

“Transformers: The Beginning” is directed by Josh Cooley (“Inside Out” and “Toy Story 4”) and hits theaters this Thursday (26).

In the new film, we follow the beginning of the relationship between Optimus Prime and D-16, voiced by Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry respectively. Check out what the actors told CNN Brasil about the film.

The animation also features voices from Scarlett Johansson (“Marriage Story”), Keegan-Michael Key (“Key & Peele”), Steve Buscemi (“Boarwalk Empire”) and Laurence Fishburne (“Matrix”) and Jon Hamm (“Mad Men”).
