William and Kate Middleton move from London for their children to have a “normal” life

Prince William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have decided to move their family from London for the term in an attempt to ensure their children have a “normal” family life, a royal source told CNN .

The decision to change their children’s schools was officially announced by Kensington Palace on Monday (22), in a statement.

According to the royal source, Prince William, Kate and their children will reside in Adelaide Cottage, a four-bedroom house on the grounds of Windsor Castle, Berkshire. This move will bring the family closer to both Queen Elizabeth, who also resides at Windsor Castle, and the Duchess’s family who live in the same county.

However, their current residence, Kensington Palace, will remain the family’s main home, according to the royal source.

For now, there are no plans for the family to have in-house staff at Adelaide Cottage, the royal source told CNN . He added that arrangements can be made to hire a nanny at the property.

According to the statement, the couple’s three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – will be transferred to Lambrook School, one of the most prestigious paid schools in the UK, which is located just outside London, Berkshire. .

Lambrook School is described on its website as a “leading coeducational prep school for 615 boys and girls ages 3 and 13, situated on 21 acres of beautiful Berkshire countryside”.

William and Kate ‘want to be as normal a family as possible’

“We are delighted to have Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis join us in September. And we look forward to welcoming the family, as well as all of our new students, into our school community,” said school principal Jonathan Perry in the Kensington Palace statement.

William and Kate thanked their children’s former London school, Thomas’s Battersea, for the “happy start” it gave Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

In the statement, Ben Thomas, head of Thomas’s London Day Schools, thanked Charlotte and George “for upholding the school’s values and for their many contributions to school life.” He also wished them good luck at their new school.

The royal source told CNN that the move will allow William and Kate to be “active parents in a demanding school”.

“They want to be as normal a family as possible,” the source added.

The move will also provide the family with greater privacy at home, due to the presence of high security on the Queen’s estate.
