William and Kate Middleton, who love to challenge each other

Both accomplices in life and rivals when it comes to competing in sport. Yesterday William and Kate tried their hand at various sports at Marlow Sports Centre – Buckinghamshire, managed by the charity SportAid (of which she has been patron for some time).

The couple argued a game of netballa team sport similar to basketball, with a group of young people and their parents and, even though she had two fingers bandaged due to a small injury suffered while playing with her children, the Princess of Wales (who, it must be said, is passionate of netball since she was a child), although her husband was in a defensive position, on the fourth attempt she managed to score a point. Even later, in a game of goalball (netball), which is played between visually impaired athletes, she was the one who scored – blindfolded – again, this time, however, already on the first try. Not only that: when William tried, Kate managed to block the blow.

It is not the first time that the royal couple competes in sport with no holds barred and that Kate prevails.

Just last week, the Prince and Princess of Wales played a ping pong game during a visit to the Dracaena Centre, Cornwall. When Kate firmly directed a ball towards her husband’s neck, he looked very scared. This move and a whole series of winning tactics ensured the princess’s victory in this case too.

In February, in South Wales, William and Kate attended one spinning class during a visit to the Aberavon Leisure and Fitness Center in Port Talbot. And they challenged each other in a 45-second race, during which she even asked if she could increase the resistance of the spin bike. Despite the heeled boots and skirt, she was the one who deserved the trophy.

However, Kate did not always get on the podium. Last year, while the royal couple visited several Caribbean islands, they took on a race in the choppy waters of the Bahamas in rival sloops. That time, the Prince of Wales crossed the finish line five minutes ahead of four other boats, including Kate’s. When William was asked about the result of the race, he replied: «Discretion is best. Especially if you won and your wife came last.”
