The vast majority of users running Windows 10 PCs using multiple monitors are constantly faced with an annoying issue. The fact is that if a person has several monitors and he placed windows with applications on their work areas for comfortable work, then after the computer wakes up from sleep mode, these windows are grouped in a completely random way. This is quite inconvenient, so many users simply disable the hibernation function or use third-party software, but this bug will be fixed with a future update of the operating system.

This problem especially bothered those users who work on a laptop with an external monitor connected – when the computer goes into sleep mode, the system considers that the monitor is disconnected from the network. Accordingly, the operating system moves all open windows to the laptop screen, as if the user had simply disconnected the monitor cable from the device. And the user has to manually drag the windows back, which, of course, is not a very pleasant experience. Microsoft has called the problem Rapid Hot Plug Detect (Rapid HDP), and with detailed documentation and examples from many users, it should be addressed soon.
At the moment, Microsoft representatives said that work on solving the Rapid HDP problem is quite active, and a corresponding patch will be released in a major update, which is promised to be released by the end of 2021. However, if the user is a member of a special program, he can install insider build 21287, in which the trial version of the patch is already installed. On the other hand, the problem has been known for a long time, and there are a lot of applications on the network that solve the situation with the bug.
