Windows 10 update broke OneDrive. Microsoft has already released a patch

Microsoft has confirmed a problem with the OneDrive cloud service on computers running the Windows 10 operating system. Users are experiencing crashes after installing the latest updates released this month. The software giant has already released a fix, it is available as part of an unscheduled update KB5020953.

The Microsoft blog states that this is a cumulative update, so you don’t need to install any previous update before installing it. It can be found on Microsoft Update.

Crashes in OneDrive are observed when performing certain actions related to the application. For example, when you exit the program or unlink an account, make changes to sync folders and sites with a specific device from Microsoft SharePoint or Microsoft Teams sites, and even when you uninstall the OneDrive client. Issues occur on computers running Windows 10 versions 22H2, 21H2, 21H1, and 20H2 after installing update KB5018410 or later. This does not apply to server platforms.
