The latest data from the Steam service shows that the popularity of Windows 11 is growing among gamers. April statistics confirm that Windows 11 added 2.06% and now holds almost 19% of the market, while other versions of Windows have lost some of their positions.
Windows maintains its dominant position on Steam with a 96.31% market share. Windows 10 64-bit remains the most popular choice among gamers at 73.55%. Windows 7 64-bit comes in third with a score of 2.93%.

macOS and Linux are preferred by few Steam users. Apple’s desktop operating system accounts for just 2.55% of users, while Linux is currently preferred by 1.14% of gamers.
As we reported, the latest optional Microsoft Windows 11 update 22000.652 (KB5012643) has caused a number of issues. Users write about screen flickering in safe mode, problems with File Explorer, and more. Microsoft recommends removing it and is already working on a fix.
