Windows 11 Home requires internet connection to complete installation

At the end of the week, a test build of the next Microsoft OS – Windows 11 – was leaked to the network. As a result, more and more details about the new OS appear on the network, as journalists and enthusiasts master it.

For example, Windows 11 Home was found to require an internet connection to complete the installation. Microsoft has traditionally insisted that users sign in to their Microsoft accounts when setting up Windows 10 on a new device, making it difficult for users to skip this step.

However, in Windows 10, a simple workaround could be used – unplug the Ethernet cable and select the “I don’t have Internet” option to continue with the “limited setup” that allows you to set up a local account.

However, for Windows 11 Home users, this workaround no longer works. As we can see in the screenshots, the Windows 11 Home version lacks the “I have no Internet” button, while the Windows 11 Pro version retains it, and there is also no option to create a local account.

The only hope remains that the official stable build will change and will not require mandatory internet. However, here, too, a workaround was discovered, surprisingly simple.

When Windows 11 Home prompts to connect to the network by pressing Alt + F4, the user can close the prompt and go directly to the local account creation page, which is not offered unless interrupted by the normal installation process.
