Windows 11 returns to Windows 8, but in a thoughtful way. There will be a full screen widget menu

At the Windows Powers the Future of Hybrid Work online presentation, Microsoft announced what the future holds for Windows 11. In addition to the updated File Explorer and native effects for video conferencing, the system will make it possible to expand the widget menu to full screen, although now it is limited to only a smaller part of the screen left. The new implementation cannot help but resemble the Start menu from Windows 8, which has become almost the main drawback of the system.

Nevertheless, Microsoft does not repeat the mistakes of the past, but acts thoughtfully: if in Windows 8 the menu expanded to full screen by default, and this could not be changed in any way, then in Windows 11 you need to press a special button to activate full-screen mode, and the default is exactly reduced version.

The developers also showed that this widget menu is based on all user profiles at once – apparently, it will collect information from both personal and work accounts.
