In March 2022, Microsoft stalled the distribution of the new Windows 11 operating system. This is evidenced by fresh AdDuplex statistics.

For comparison: a month ago this figure was 19.3%. Test versions of Windows 11 Insider were used by 0.3% in February and 0.6% in February. The total share of Windows 11 is now 20%. The growth of Windows 11 has completely stalled, something that has not been seen with the Microsoft OS for several years.

At the same time, the share of the latest version of Windows 10 (21H) has grown very significantly – from 21% in February to 28.5% in March. This version became the most popular, climbing up from second place. In March, an earlier 2021 update, Windows 10 21H1, dropped from first to second place with a share of 26.5%.

Much of the growth in Windows 10 version 21H2 has come from version 20H2, and there’s a very good reason for that. Windows 10 20H2 will end support in May 2022. This means that Microsoft is starting to automatically update these PCs to more modern OS versions.
