Wired Next Fest 2022: the new edition in attendance is underway

The Wired Next Festthe largest free-to-participate event in Italy dedicated to innovation, is ready to restart with the public in attendance with two events not to be missed: the May 28 to Florence At Palazzo Vecchio and the 7 and 8 October to Milan at the Steam Factory.

Winner of the BEA – Best Event Awards as “best cultural festival in Italy” in 2019the Wired Next Fest always returns this year to celebrate and talk about science, technology, business, the network, research, social innovation, the desire for change and evolution as key elements for economic, cultural and politician of our country.

After two entirely digital editions – which recorded a great success with almost 1.6 MIO total video views (social + website) and about 14.6 MIO impressions on the social platforms – the Wired Next Fest evolves further, presenting itself in an even more richer and more articulated. In addition to the appointments in Florence and Milan, the festival transforms from event to mediacreating a communication path that will start in April and end in October, using all Wired platforms.

The main theme of 2022 will be The future of democracy: digital technologies are having a great impact on democracies around the world and on the processes of globalization, touching many areas, including privacy, rights, information, training, work, safety, health and many others. With new drivers, dynamics and players – which until a few years ago were not an active part of the social development of the planet – today the future of democracy is being written and new models of governance in the public and private sectors are emerging, an evolution that the festival will try to analyze through talks, workshops and meet & greet.

The focus of the Florence event will be the needs and requirements of the new generations with the aim of talking about the citizens and leaders of tomorrow.

“All over the world innovation plays a key role in the development of democracy and, in general, of companies. Only in the last two and a half years have we seen how information (increasingly digital), energy (and related sources), information security, citizen privacy, environmental sustainability and scientific and technological research – just to mention some examples – are the main issues on the agendas of governments and companies. Thinking about the future of democracy therefore means understanding how technological innovation can guarantee the construction of a better world, that is, more equitable and sustainable, and give everyone the opportunity to cultivate the most important right, that of happiness “, he comments. Federico Ferrazza, director of Wired Italia.

New details on the event, on the guests and on how to participate will be disseminated on Wired.it in the coming weeks.
