Wired Next Fest: appointment in Florence

The Wired Next Festthe largest participation event free in Italy dedicated to innovation and digital technologies, for its tenth edition, returns to Florence on November 30th at Palazzo Vecchio.

In these ten years, the Wired Next Fest has celebrated and talked about science, technology, business, the network, research, social innovation, the desire for change and evolution as key elements for economic, cultural development and political. It did so thanks to the participation of experts and opinion leaders of national and international importance and some of the protagonists of our time.

After the great success of the Rovereto and Milan stages, in which more than 1,000 participants participated 60 thousand peoplethe city of Florence will host the Festival, this year dedicated to it to Italy.

«The third and final stage of the Wired Next Fest 2023, in addition to celebrating the tenth anniversary of the most important Italian innovation festival, will be an opportunity to start looking towards next year. On the stage of the Salone dei Cinquecento we will trace the technological and non-technological trends of 2024. With the aim, as always, not of predicting the future but of providing people with the tools to build it” he states Federico Ferrazza, director of Wired Italia.

During the day we will discuss how our country is building its future, putting the territories and their ability to connect with the world at the centre.

Numerous topics will be addressed on stage in the Salone dei Cinquecento from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm: in fact, we will talk about artificial intelligence and its effects on society and organizations; Of digital infrastructures, open intelligence and the role of average and communication in the narration of the transformations of today’s world; Of geopolitics and new world balances, starting from the crisis that is inflaming the Middle East and Eastern Europe; Of energy transition and changes driven by the climate and environmental crisis; of food policies and evolution of globalization processestheir economic and political consequences and the role ofEurope in the new international context; of immigration, cultural identities and sovereignist tendencies; of investments and open innovation and the challenges of scientific research in the field of life science; Of territorial development And tourism; of comedy and the delicate balance between expressive freedom, satire and politically correct; of creative industry, music And comic booksnew skills and evolution of job market.

A rich parterre of Italian and international guests will discuss the role of innovation as a tool for growth and well-being. Scientists, technologists, large companies, SMEs, start-ups, artists and intellectuals will discuss how – even in a globalized world – local cultures and policies are able to influence innovation processes and the birth of new trends.

In the afternoon, a special event: the Mayor Dario Nardella will meet 500 young Florentines who will be adults in 2024 in the Salone dei Cinquecento of Palazzo Vecchio. A moment to celebrate the acquisition of full civil and political rights.
