Wired Next Fest: the concert (charity) of La Representative of Lista

A concert that will not be just music. And a show that will not be just entertainment. On the occasion of the last leg of the Wired Next Fest, the largest Italian event dedicated to innovation and technology, Wired arranges, together with AIRC Foundation, a special concert in streaming with the protagonist The List Representative, a support for breast cancer research on 30 September 2021 from the Teatro Gerolamo in Milan. An event that, following the 2021 theme of the Wired Next Fest, Balance, seeks a new balance between music and words, between entertainment and solidarity.

The exhibition, which can be followed from the dedicated website of the Wired Next Fest, includes an online access ticket and part of the proceeds will be donated to the Pink Ribbon campaign of AIRC to help support breast cancer research. the most widespread cancer in the female gender, which affects one in eight women over the course of their life, with about 55,000 new diagnoses in Italy in 2020 alone (AIOM, AIRTUM, Fondazione AIOM and PASSI, Cancer numbers in Italy 2020). After a year and a half of a pandemic that has severely tested people with cancer and forced to postpone check-ups and interventions, it becomes even more important, on the threshold of a restart phase, to pool efforts because the post Covid-19 world is more supportive.

Furthermore, since the very small capacity of the Theater and compliance with anti-Covid regulations allow the presence within the structure of a very limited number of people, Wired, in sharing with the List Representative, has decided to reserve the few seats available. to the AIRC Foundation, to allow access to the room to a representation of young researchers and survivors, women who are facing the consequences of breast cancer therapies.

The concert organized with Wired will be a summa of the artistic career of La Representative of Lista, a best of open to other guests who will talk to the band with music and words whose names will be announced in the coming weeks.

Furthermore, all those who purchase the ticket will have the opportunity to receive a free digital copy of the October 2021 issue of the magazine, which will be dedicated to sustainability. and will have access to all digital editions of Wired issues from 2010 to today.

In support of the cause, the List Representative has pledged to give this moment of music and art as a gift, playing for free. The costs of the ticket, therefore, in addition to supporting research on breast cancer, will serve to remunerate the work of the many workers of the show who will contribute, behind the scenes, to make the event possible, and particularly affected in turn by the Covid crisis. -19.

With this spirit, Wired and the List Representative have joined the campaign by AIRC, whose symbol is an incomplete pink ribbon, to represent the urgency to find new treatments for women affected by breast cancer, creating a show that has, in addition to its undoubted artistic value, also a positive social implication. An approach that has always characterized both the information of Wired, attentive to social rights and needs, and the activity of the List Representative. The band, already protagonist of the first appointment of the Wired Next Fest 2021 last June 18, returns to the Teatro Gerolamo after a year that saw it debut in Sanremo 71 with the single Amare, publish immediately after the album, My Mamma, a work that reflects the constant vocation of the band led by singer Veronica Lucchesi and multi-instrumentalist Dario Mangiaracina to go further and further in defining their own sound and writing, and to organize a tour in 23 Italian locations.

“I want to thank Wired and the Lista Representative for choosing to wear the Pink Ribbon AIRC siding alongside our researchers with this special concert – she explains Niccolò Contucci, General Manager of the AIRC Foundation – Advances in research for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer have led 5-year survival to 87%, an important result that is certainly not enough because many patients are still waiting for the right answers for the most common forms. aggressive. Only with everyone’s commitment will we be able to achieve a cancer-free future: it is necessary that women undergo the screening and follow-up tests recommended for early diagnosis, that researchers proceed relentlessly in the development of new therapies and that supporters continue with confidence to confirm their fundamental support for the progress of science ».

“Among the many things we have learned in the last year and a half there is certainly that we cannot do without medicine. Making people live better and longer must be a goal of the whole society. For this reason, when we decided to work with the List Representative to organize the concert of the Wired Next Fest 2021, we thought that supporting the research of the Airc Foundation was the right signal to send. The “search for new balances” is the theme of this year’s entire festival: we would like it if in the post-pandemic world knowledge and science were put at the forefront by governments around the world “, he says. Federico Ferrazza, director of Wired Italia.

“What we are going through is a fundamental moment for society because, like any period of crisis, it offers us the opportunity to make changes. We welcomed Wired’s invitation with great interest and we intercepted the possibility that it was an opportunity to find new balances. The dialogue with these realities on the occasion of the Wired Next Fest will be the moment to question ourselves together on what could be good practices and how they can become voice, action, participation, adhesion. Donating part of the proceeds to the AIRC was a precious opportunity for us to support research, a field of medicine that is often not encouraged in Italy “, say Veronica Lucchesi and Dario Mangiaracina of The Lista Representative.
