The city of São Paulo recorded the highest temperature of the summer of 2022, so far, this Tuesday (18), according to ClimaTempo meteorologist Carine Gama. The brand was registered at the Mirante de Santana station, with 33°C.

In an interview with CNN, Gama explained that a good part of the Southeast region is not facing a heat wave, but a decrease in rainfall. With more sunlight, temperatures rise. However, as there is still water in the atmosphere, there is the possibility of late afternoon thunderstorms across the region.

In the southern region, the meteorologist said that the passage of a cold front lowered temperatures, but that a new heat wave is forecast for the end of this week.

During the interview, Gama also said that heavy rain is forecast for part of Amazonas, western and northern Pará, eastern Amapá, and northern Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará. The south of Minas Gerais, Zona da Mata and Vale do Paraíba, in São Paulo, should also register occasional storms.
