With a floor of R$ 1,302, see how it benefits those who retired last year

The federal government published an ordinance this Wednesday (11) in which it announces the minimum value of R$ 1,302 for Social Security. With the floor established, it is now possible to calculate the benefit to be received by taxpayers who retired last year.

The calculation based on the readjustment varies according to the month in which the taxpayer retired. Those who retired in January 2022 will receive the benefit with a readjustment of 5.93%, as well as retirees since 2021, while for retirees in December the variation will be 0.69%.

The interministerial ordinance was signed by the Minister of Social Security, Carlos Lupi, and by the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad. However, the decree is not attributed to the value of the minimum wage, as it seems that the political decision still needs to be taken by the government, especially by President Lula (PT).

A calculation by CNN policy analyst Caio Junqueira signals a gain in strength by Fernando Haddad in an attempt to avoid a greater readjustment, which would cause an increase of more than R$ 7 billion in expenses.

The final announcement will be at R$1,302, according to the MP signed by former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), or at R$1,320, according to the wish of the PT, it should be just for the return of Haddad from Davos, after January 20th.
