With a moving average of deaths at 115, Brazil records 103 deaths in 24 hours

Brazil recorded 103 more deaths from Covid-19 in 24 hours, according to data from the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) this Wednesday (18). With the update, the total number of fatal victims of the disease reaches 665,319.

In all, 30,741,811 people have confirmed a coronavirus infection in the country since the start of the pandemic. In the last 24 hours, Conass recorded 13,525 new cases.

The moving average of deaths from the disease is at 115, while that of cases is at 17,718.

Moving averages consider the average of infections and deaths recorded in the last seven days. The data allow monitoring of the pandemic indicators without possible distortions caused by possible underreporting on weekends.

2nd booster dose for seniors

This Wednesday (18), the Ministry of Health started to recommend the second booster dose of vaccines against Covid-19 for the elderly from 60 years old.

The second booster should be applied four months after the first. The guideline is that this second dose is preferably made with the Pfizer immunizer.
