With a strike imminent, BC says it has a plan to maintain critical systems, such as Pix and Selic

With the imminence of a general strike by Central Bank employees in protest over salary readjustments, the municipality released this Tuesday (29) a note to clarify that “it has contingency plans to maintain the functioning of critical systems for the population, the markets and the operations of regulated institutions, such as STR, Pix, Selic, among others”.

The servers approved this Monday (28) a strike at a virtual meeting with 1,300 employees, amid attempts to negotiate salary in the category with the BC. According to the union of the category, more than 90% of the servers voted for the indefinite stoppage from April 1st.

Workers are asking for a 19.9% ​​salary readjustment and negotiations with the institution’s management have not progressed.

In recent days, the category has held a series of protests with occasional stoppages, which began to generate problems in the collection and dissemination of indicators and financial data.

In the note sent earlier, the BC also said that “it recognizes the right of civil servants to promote organized demonstrations and trusts in the historic dedication, quality and responsibility of civil servants and their commitment to the Institution and society”.
