With Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal, “All We Unknown” arrives on streaming

Starring Andrew Scott (“Fleabag” and “Sherlock”) and Paul Mescal (“Aftersun” and “Normal People”), “All of Us Strangers” entered the Star+ catalog this Wednesday (24).

In the plot, Adam begins to get closer to his mysterious neighbor Harry while he is taken back to the house he lived in as a child, where he finds his deceased parents at the same age as the day they died, which ends up creating a mental confusion between the that is real or not.

In addition to Scott and Mescal, the film also features Claire Foy (“The Crown” and “Millennium: The Girl in the Spider’s Web”) and Jamie Bell (“Billy Elliot”) in the cast.

The title is an adaptation of the book of the same name by Japanese writer Taichi Yamada and is signed by Andrew Haigh known for his work on “45 Hours” (2015) and “The Wild Route” (2017).

In an interview, Paul Mescal said that loneliness is one of the central themes of the plot and that the director approaches it in two different ways.

“One of them is probably more obvious, in that Adam isolates himself as a coping mechanism. Meanwhile, Harry does drugs, parties, and on the surface probably seems less isolated than Adam, but he's literally begging for someone to let him in, which is very disturbing,” he said.

Mescal also spoke about the intensity of the film and revealed that each scene was recorded at least six or seven times.

“It was very invigorating artistically, but also very challenging, because the problem with the material is that it required a journey. It raises big questions and demands an innate naturalism from the actors. We would do six or seven takes of scenes, because you had to dedicate that time to get to the right level of heartbreaking,” he said.
