TV Globo announced, on Wednesday (16), that the fifth edition of the reality show The Masked Singer Brasil will feature actor Tony Ramos, 76, and singer Belo, 50, on the judging team. The new season, which will only premiere in 2025, will be a tribute to the 60 years of the Rio broadcaster.
The proposal is to bring historical characters and notable soundtracks from TV Globo soap operas into the episodes of the program led by Eliana. The actor from “Belíssima” and “Mulheres Apaixonadas” stated that he was happy to have been called to represent the actors in the jury and compared the anxiety caused by Masked Singer with that aroused by the premiere of a soap opera.
“I’m going to be a judge in an absolutely pleasant context, which is to pay homage to dramaturgy in TV Globo’s 60 years. I’m a veteran in this thing called soap operas and I was very happy to be invited, something totally new for me. I find it interesting to remember great characters, and the moment of guessing who is behind the masks is fun. It’s the same anxiety as starting a soap opera”, he said.
Eliana, who had already been confirmed as the attraction’s new commander, celebrated the fact that the program unites two universes with which she was familiar: Sundays, the day of the week on which she has led programs for 20 years, and music.
“It is a huge joy for me to celebrate 20 years on Sundays with this debut on ‘Masked’, this reality show so loved by families, in this musical environment in which I have been for so many years. And living this experience with this playful side of soap operas, having Tony Ramos by my side, is a great emotion. I want to roll out the red carpet every time he enters the scene. And I’ll still be with the wonderful Sabrina Sato and Tatá Werneck, and with Belo. Behind the masks, wait, because there will be a lot of cool people!”, celebrates Eliana.
Sabrina Sato, a judge since the third season of the program, and Tatá Werneck, who has been on the show since the second edition, remain on the judging team.
