With guitarist returning after 16 years, Red Hot Chili Peppers announce new album

With the return of guitarist John Frusciante after 16 years, the Red Hot Chili Peppers announced, this Friday (4), their new album, “Unlimited Love”, which will be released on April 1 of this year.

To mark the announcement, the band shared the first song from the new album, “Black Summer”, which is now available on all streaming platforms.

“Gradually, we started to bring in new ideas and turn them into songs, and after a few months we were just playing new stuff. To me, this album represents our love and faith in each other,” said Frusciante, who left the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2006.

“Unlimited Love” is also the band’s first work with legendary producer Rick Rubin since 2011. Rubin participated in the production of the group’s famous albums, such as “Blood Sugar Sex Magik”, “Californication” and “By The Way”.

To promote the new album, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will tour Europe and the United States between June and September 2022. Some shows will feature guest appearances by artists such as A$AP Rocky, Anderson.Paak and The Strokes.

This will be the band’s first album since “The Getaway”, released in 2016.
