With the reduction in the rate of ICMS (Tax on the Circulation of Goods and Provision of Services) on fuels made in some states this week, the average price of regular gasoline fell by R$ 0.26 in the country.
In the weekly survey by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), the average price of regular gasoline observed was R$ 7.12. In the previous week, the average cost of a liter was R$ 7.39.
In eleven of the thirteen states where the ICMS rate was changed, a reduction in the average price of fuel was also observed, according to the ANP survey. Paraná was the one that registered the biggest drop in the average price, going from R$ 7.41 to R$ 6.84, a decrease of R$ 0.56. The state that already practices the 18% rate and that had the smallest drop in price was Bahia, with a reduction of R$ 0.11 in the average price of the liter.
In addition to gasoline, ethanol continues to fall for nine consecutive weeks. According to the ANP, the average price of a liter in the country reached R$ 4.72. In the previous survey, the value of the fuel was R$ 4.87.
While fuel for passenger vehicles recorded a drop, common diesel and the S-10 showed a slight decline in the average price of a liter, of one cent, in relation to the previous week. Diesel is mainly used in public transport and trucks, and plays an important role in the country’s transport chain.
Last week, after a price readjustment by Petrobras, the average price of diesel in the country surpassed the value of gasoline for the first time since the beginning of the ANP’s historical series.
