With increased demand for luxury items, Dior opens 10,000 m² complex

THE Dior is reopening its sprawling flagship store and museum at the brand’s historic site on Avenue Montaigne this week after a two-year renovation, the latest in a series of major real estate investments by luxury conglomerate LVMH in the French capital.

The official opening of the complex, scheduled for March 6, follows a flurry of new group openings in recent months, including a department store and two luxury hotels – the Cheval Blanc, overlooking the River Seine. , and the Bulgari on George V.

LVMH has benefited from a post-pandemic boom in high-end consumer demand, even without returning wealthy visitors from abroad – a major source of revenue for the sector in recent years, particularly in Europe.

“Of course, we are optimistic that tourists will one day return,” said Pietro Beccari, president of Christian Dior Couture.

The newly expanded complex spans over 10,000 square meters, with cafes, gardens, a restaurant and a private apartment for overnight visits by VIP customers, as well as floors of retail space stocked with clothing, accessories, makeup and other products.

Adjacent to the store is a museum, “La Galerie Dior”, which traces the brand’s history since the 1940s, including dresses from that era, as well as the late Christian Dior’s table and an original dressing room filled with hats, gloves and jewelry.
