At least two explosions were heard today at Kyivwhile smoke could be seen rising over the city, Reuters correspondent in the Ukrainian capital reported.
The explosions followed an airstrike alert across Ukraine, hours after the president Volodymyr Zelenskiy spoke via video call to the leaders of the G20 group of countries which meet in Bali.
“Russia responded to Zelensky’s powerful speech at the G20 with a new missile attack. Does anyone think the Kremlin really wants peace? He wants submission. But at the end of the day, terrorists always lose,” wrote the head of presidential services Andriy Yermak on Twitter.
According to the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, two buildings in the Ukrainian capital were hit by the missile attacks.
