With Selic at 13.75%, how much does investing BRL 1,000 in savings, Treasury or fund

The Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) of the Central Bank (BC) decided to maintain, this Wednesday (7), the basic interest rate, the Selic, at 13.75% per annum.

With the decision, investments in post-fixed fixed income, which follow the rate, tend to remain attractive.

Michael Viriato, strategist at Casa do Investidor, carried out a survey, at the request of the CNN which shows how much an application of R$ 1,000 yields at the current rate.

The survey points out that both in the short and long term, savings are the worst investment. In six months, the application reaches R$ 1,042.45 and, in 30 months, R$ 1,231.05.

The best investment in both periods is the average bank CDB (110% of the CDI). In the short term, R$ 1,000 goes to R$ 1,056.58, while in the long term it stays at R$ 1,350.25.

According to Viriato, with the current level of the rate, both securities referenced to the Selic and the CDI become more favorable in comparison with traditional investments.

The list presents values in percentages and in reais on savings, Direct Treasury, CDBs and DI funds, which have a predetermined yield and accompany the CDI (Interbank Deposit Certificate).

And, although management fees vary between funds and brokerages, the simulation considers a fee of 0.5% for DI funds and 0.2% for the Selic Treasury.

The Selic Treasury custody fee, charged by B3, is currently zero for investments of less than R$10,000.
