The Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) of the Central Bank (BC) decided to maintain, this Wednesday (21), the basic interest rate, the Selic, at 13.75% per year.
With the decision, post-fixed fixed income investments, which follow the rate, tend to remain attractive.
Michael Viriato, strategist at Casa do Investidor, carried out a survey, at the request of the CNN Brasil Business which shows how much a BRL 1,000 investment yields at the current rate.
The survey points out that both in the short and long term, savings are the worst investment. In six months, the investment reaches R$1,042.45 and, in 30 months, to R$1,231.05.
The best investment in both periods is the average bank CDB (110% of the CDI). In the short term, the BRL 1,000 goes to BRL 1,056.58, while in the long term it is BRL 1,350.25.
According to Viriato, with the current rate level, both Selic and CDI-linked bonds become more favorable compared to traditional investments.
“With the prospect of this interest rate falling, starting next year, investments with some risk, such as hedge funds and stocks, begin to become a possibility for improvement in the short term. So, it is worth balancing the portfolios, verifying their risk profile and adapting their portfolios, also considering the possibility of diversification in these investments”, he evaluates.
The list presents values in percentages and in reais on savings, Treasury Direct, CDBs and DI funds, which have a predetermined yield and follow the CDI (Interbank Deposit Certificate).
And, although management fees vary between funds and brokers, the simulation considered a rate of 0.5% for DI funds and 0.2% for the Selic Treasury.
The Treasury Selic custody fee, charged by B3, is currently set to zero for investments of less than R$10,000.
