The Consumer Price Index (IPC), which measures inflation in the city of São Paulo, rose 0.57% in December, slowing down from the 0.72% gain in November, according to data published this Thursday (6th). ) by the Economic Research Institute Foundation (Fipe).
The December result was at the ceiling of the estimates of five market institutions consulted by the Broadcast Projections, which ranged from a high of 0.46% to 0.57%, with a median of 0.53%.
Throughout 2021, the IPC-Fipe accumulated inflation of 9.73%, within projections that ranged from 9.63% to 9.74%, but well above the rate of 5.62% in 2020.
In the last month alone, three of the seven components of the IPC-Fipe lost strength: Housing (from 0.49% in November to 0.15% in December), Transport (from 2.24% to 0.50%) and Personal Expenses (from 1.87% to 0.69%).
On the other hand, there was an acceleration in the items Food (from -0.15% in November to 1.23% in December), Health (from -0.39% to 0.01%), Clothing (from 0.67% to 0.76%) and Education (from 0.06% to 0.14%).
