And AMD 3D cards do not have any protection against mining at all: they can be used to mine absolutely any cryptocurrency, including Ethereum. So in the current situation, when the market is still growing (it does not matter, at the expense of Ethereum or Bitcoin), miners will continue to buy all available video cards, except, perhaps, models of the very entry level.
