With hot and dry weather this Monday (28), the city of São Paulo maintains the trend recorded throughout the month, which ends as the second driest February in the capital of São Paulo since 1995, when the surveys of the Center began of Emergency Management (CGE), of the city hall.
In 26 days of February, the CGE recorded 17 days with rain, lower than the average of 21 rainy days in the period.
The average rainfall until 1 pm this Sunday (27) is 75.1mm, which corresponds to only 34% of the monthly average, which is 220.8mm, according to the CGE. The index for this February is only behind the values recorded in the same month in 2018, when the accumulated was 64.0mm.
The lack of rain in the region reflects on the situation of the Cantareira System, the largest producer of water in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo. According to the Basic Sanitation Company of the State of São Paulo (Sabesp), the system operates with 43% of the volume on Monday – the lowest rate in six years for the period.

Trend for the next few days
The week begins with the predominance of a mass of hot and dry air, which will bring sunny days to the city of São Paulo. With high temperatures, humidity levels should be below ideal, close to 30% in the hottest hours of the day.
On Tuesday (1st), the sun and heat prevail in the capital. Between late afternoon and early evening, the entrance of the sea breeze favors the arrival of humidity and the formation of clouds. The feeling of heat subsides and there is no expectation of rain. Thermometers fluctuate between 20°C at dawn and 33°C in the afternoon.
Ash Wednesday (2) will also be a sunny day and high temperatures. Between the middle of the afternoon and the beginning of the night, the heat and the entrance of the sea breeze generate heavy clouds that cause rains in the form of isolated showers with short duration. In addition, according to the CGE, gusts of wind may hit the city, which will have a minimum of 21°C and a maximum of 32°C.
