With the inclusion of 30 young people, the Navy launches the Forces in Sport Program in the city of Rio Grande (RS)

The Brazilian Navy, through the Rio Grande Marine Group, launched on Monday (24) the Forces in Sports Program (Profesp). It is an offshoot of the Segundo Tempo program, carried out in partnership between the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Defense with the aim of reducing social risks and strengthening citizenship, inclusion and social integration of beneficiaries.

In addition to sporting activities, Profesp offers tutoring, food, and psychological and social support, contributing to the comprehensive training of young participants. The program is present in 108 municipalities in all states and the Federal District. In Rio Grande, 30 young people in vulnerable situations will be served. They are students at Escola Municipal de Ensino Fundamental Professora Maria de Graça Reys.

“Profesp is considered one of the most effective preventive programs in public security, in addition to its action to strengthen national sovereignty and with the support of partnerships. These young people, at this moment, embrace a unique opportunity to carry with them all the lessons they will have here” said the Commander of the 5th Naval District, Vice Admiral Augusto José da Silva Fonseca Junior.

In addition to him, the mayor of Rio Grande, Fábio de Oliveira Branco, the Chief of Staff of the Squadron, Rear Admiral Hélio Moreira Branco Junior, the Commander of the Rio Grande Marine Group, Frigate Captain Marcelo Marques de Lima, the Director of EMEF Professor Maria de Graça Reyes, Liciane Gautério da Costa Fernandes and the Secretary of Education of Rio Grande, Denise Lopes.
