Storm Eunice knocked a crane off the roof of a hospital in the Belgian city of Tournai on Friday. The storms that hit northern Europe have caused winds of up to 130 kilometers per hour.
In the hospital no deaths were reported, but people were injured. The crane hit the roof of the building and crashed through the roof of the top floor. Another piece fell to the ground at a construction site near the base of the crane that was left standing.
In another incident, a teenager was hit by a branch while running in the nearby town of Menen. Both cities are close to the French border.
The storm, which also hits other countries on the continent, such as Great Britain, Ireland and the Netherlands, interrupted transport services in Belgian territory.
Still in Belgium, a 79-year-old Englishman died after being pushed from his boat into the water by the strong wind generated by Storm Eunice, according to local media on Friday. He was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries, broadcaster VTM reported.
In London, a woman was killed after a tree fell on top of her car. According to the London Metropolitan Police, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver was taken to hospital, but his life is not in danger.
A UK weather channel reported earlier this afternoon that the storm was moving away from the nation, but that strong winds and dangerous conditions will persist for the next few hours. The recommendation is that people stay at home.
In the Netherlands, three people died after falling trees. The storm damaged buildings and blew off parts of the roof of the stadium at ADO Den Haag football club, officials said.
The government has instructed the population, through text messages, to stay at home and only call emergency services in case of life-threatening situations.
Due to the storm, 390 flights were canceled in the country; schools sent children home early and trains were canceled across the country from 2pm local time (1300 GMT).
In Ireland, a man died after being hit by a falling tree while clearing debris from the rains, national broadcaster RTE reported.
