Brazil is considering postponing the presentation of a new resolution to condemn the war between Israel and Hamas. Without consensus among member countries, and with obstacles, especially in negotiations with the United States and Russia, Brazilian diplomacy is holding final talks to avoid yet another veto.
However, according to sources, diplomats have not yet given up on an agreement. The Brazilian chancellor, Mauro Vieira, is in New York, in the United States, for the last conversations before the proposal is taken to the collegiate.

The biggest fear lies in another possible veto from the United States, which supports Israel, with technology, fighter jets and aircraft carriers.
While the Americans ask for a text with more incisive condemnations of Hamas, which mentions Israel’s right to self-defense and does not call for a ceasefire, Russia defends an immediate ceasefire and asks that Israel suspend the order to withdraw Palestinians from the north of Gaza.
The balance between these two parts could make Brazil give up on a text on the verge of leaving the presidency of the body. The country will be a non-permanent member of the security council until the end of the year.
Another important piece of information is that the Brazilian chancellor contacted the Qatari chancellor to ask for commitment in negotiations for the release of Brazilians in Gaza.
