Former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) returned this Tuesday (14) to defend changes in the labor reform approved in 2017, during the government of former president Michel Temer (MDB).
When talking about the subject, PT abandoned the term “revocation”, until then used in interviews, and mentioned the need for a “review” of the reforms. The decision to soften the speech on the subject was revealed by CNN anchor Daniela Lima, on Friday (10).
“We are now going to have to review the labor reform, the Social Security reform, with a view to adapting to current times without workers returning to being slaves,” said the former president, in an interview with radio Vitoriosa, from Uberlândia (MG). ).
According to him, app workers are being “sold to society with the idea that they are entrepreneurs”.
“But they have no rights. If the car breaks down, if the motorcycle overturns, if the bicycle breaks down, the guy has no social security, neither for himself nor for his family. So, we need to guarantee these workers the minimum right,” he said.
The PT defended the distribution of economic growth with workers. “We need a redistribution of wages. Who makes the company grow are the workers. It is this country that I intend to be after. Society has to be a co-participant,” he said.
Lula promised to recreate, if elected, the Economic and Social Development Council that he had instituted in his first term as president. His idea, according to him, is to transform the country into the center of a debate, so that all sectors “assume responsibility for the country”.
