One of the witnesses who testified in the trial for the death of former soccer player Diego Armando Maradona was arrested on Tuesday for false testimony, according to the court responsible for the case in Buenos Aires.
The lawyer of two of the daughters of Maradona, Fernando Burlando, requested the measure after finding inconsistencies in the initial statements of Julio César Coria, provided during the preliminary investigation, and on Tuesday.
The Court answered the request, then a Coria was withdrawn from the court in a police car, as noted by the CNN.
Coria was one of four witnesses who depused at the hearing on Tuesday, the fifth since the trial.
The other three were Santiago Gioorello, owner of the house that Maradona rented in the city of Tigre and where he died; Andrea Jordan Camus, auctioneer; and Jana Maradona, one of the former player’s daughters.
Seven people, all members of the medical team who dealt with the former star, are accused of possible medical negligence that led to his death. All deny the accusations.
