Wizz Air Holdings announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Ministry of Investment, to explore opportunities to develop the airline market in the country.
The airline, which focuses on Eastern European countries, said the country has launched a plan to triple passenger traffic under the Vision 2030 program, which it said would provide significant opportunities for the airline and supply chain in the industry.
Wizz Air stressed that the two sides will work together on potential investment models and operational models to benefit and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s aviation ecosystem, strengthen its tourism industry and increase its connectivity.
“The memorandum reflects a shared vision between the two parties about the potential that Wizz Air could bring to the UK to stimulate new demand, thus contributing to Saudi Arabia’s planned development,” the airline said.
