Woman accuses Yamandu Costa of sexual abuse and aggression; Defense Nega

A woman who related to musician Yamandu Costa for about 3 months says she suffered physical, psychological and sexual violence by the artist. His defense denies the accusations.

According to the complaint, published on the social networks of Inês Marinho, creator of an NGO dedicated to combating the dissemination of intimate photos without consent, the former partner of the musician claims to have been assaulted by Yamandu on May 1 in Lisbon, in front of his son. The next day she reports being assaulted again with a blow to her face in a bar. The situation would have been seen by other people.

The complainant still claims to have been sexually abused by Yamandu while he was unconscious, after he allegedly gave her compresses to sleep.

The woman claims to have physical signs and a forensic account that proves what happened. The alleged victim says she filed a lawsuit.

What the defense says

The musician’s defense denies the aggressions and says that “no accusation can override the right to truth, broad defense and preservation of personal dignity.” About the episode in the air, it states that there was a heated discussion on the spot, but that management, employees and customers who witnessed the incident did not witness “any kind of physical aggression.”

Regarding the alleged aggression in front of the musician’s son, the defense says that the boy’s mother confirms that he witnessed a fight that night, marked by excessive alcohol consumption by both and shouts on both sides. However, the note states that the boy did not witness “no act of physical violence.”

Regarding the health examination presented by the Portuguese influencer, the defense reports that it was made in Spain, days after the alleged episode. The exam, the defense says, pointed out the presence of lorazepam, an anxiolytic of controlled use and that the examination “does not allow to gauge authorship, dose or time of ingestion” of the substance.

The messages released by the accuser, according to the defense, were “selectively edited.” The full conversations, which would be in possession of the defense, “contain no admission of guilt or violence,” revealing “perplexity, disagreements and attempts at reconciliation,” but “no content that constitutes threat, coercion or aggression.”

As for the accuser’s stay in Portugal, the defense states that his presence in Lisbon was his own decision, made after receiving a letter from Yamandu explaining that there would be no formal relationship between them. After the episode, she would have left the house “autonomously” and sought refuge at another address, “there was no restriction of freedom,” as suggested publicly.
