A 40-year-old woman was arrested red-handed this Tuesday morning (17), suspected of using her own 4-year-old son to try to sneak drugs into a prison, located in São Cristóvão, in the region. Metropolitan of Aracaju (SE).
According to the State Secretariat for Justice and Consumer Protection (Sejuc), the woman’s arrest took place at the time she was showing up for a day to visit her husband, who is detained at the Manoel Carvalho Neto Penitentiary Complex (Copemcan).
The file states that the drug was hidden in the child’s shorts. The material was found during a body inspection using a device that detects substances that are prohibited from entering the premises.
“The woman, upon realizing that she would go through the body scanner for the purpose of detecting some alleged illicit act, quickly inserted an object inside the child’s shorts with the aim of circumventing the search procedure. As a result, the criminal police officers asked the woman to hand over the material inserted in her son’s clothing, which was promptly responded to. When they checked the packaging, it contained approximately 121 grams of a substance similar to marijuana”, stated Sejuc, in a note.
After the drugs were found, the woman and the material were taken to the Flagrante Center. The child was handed over to his family while still in the prison unit.
