A woman was arrested for storing drugs and weapons in her apartment in Volta Redonda, in the south of the state of Rio de Janeiro, on Tuesday afternoon (24).
Rebecca Lara Dolores, 23 years old, lives in a condominium in the “Minha Casa, Minha Vida” program.
The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police say they received an anonymous tip about the woman’s movements. Upon arriving at the scene, officers located Rebecca, but the suspect gave the wrong address to the officers.
After some investigation, the police found Rebecca’s correct address.
According to the police, the suspect confessed that she kept the drugs and the gun inside her home. In addition, investigators are investigating whether Rebecca has any ties to Terceiro Comando Puro (TCP), a criminal faction that operates in Rio de Janeiro.
The State Secretariat of Civil Police reported that the arrest was made by agents from the 93rd Police Station in Volta Redonda through intelligence work.
In the woman’s apartment, agents seized crack rocks, marijuana tablets and cash from drug sales and a gun with ammunition.
The prisoner was sent to the penitentiary system and will have to answer for the crimes of drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons.
