Woman bans men from entering her lingerie store to stop harassment

Although the perception of harassment and sexual harassment of women is an issue that has become relevant in recent years, despite the fact that it is a latent reality in many parts of the world, there are few initiatives and mechanisms aimed at eradicating and penalize this type of behavior.

For this reason, many times women are forced to take measures to put a stop to the harassment of which they have been or may become victims at some point in their lives.

Andrea Costa owns a lingerie store known as Mr. Luxos, in Brazil. The businesswoman who is also a model caused a stir when she decided to place a sign in the window of her business that prohibits access to men.

As expected, from Andrea’s unusual measure, the controversy was fueled on social networks, but she justified her action by declaring that, for her, “99.99 percent of men have incorrect behavior.”

In addition, she explained that both she and her employees have witnessed situations in which some men have tried to spy on clients or criticize the appearance of their partners.

The first action Andrea took in response to the problem was to create a separate space for men where they were offered beer and video games. However, this did not work, so she had to take more extreme measures.

The sign that prohibits access to men to Mr. Luxos also details that entry is prohibited to those who “despise the body of their wives”, “who instead of extolling the beauty of their companions, stay eating with the eyes to the models” or that “one day they arrive with the wife and the other with the lover (if they make us feel that shame, we will tell about it)”.

However, despite the criticism she has received, Andrea remains firm in her decision and has declared that she will maintain the measure indefinitely.
