A 37 -year -old woman was rescued by the Fire Department after being mistakenly ingested a poison for insects. She would have confused the insecticide packaging with that of a stomach medicine.
The case occurred last Saturday in Formosa (GO), located about 280 kilometers from Goiânia and on the border with the Federal District.
Upon arriving at the scene, the victim had breathing difficulties and vomiting. It was informed to the teams that the woman ingested a spoonful of poison. At the scene, the firefighters performed the procedures and referred it to the Formosa State Hospital.
In a statement, the hospital said the patient entered the unit with intoxication. The medical team performed a gastric washing and some image exams to monitor the victim’s health. After 24 hours of observation, the patient showed improvement and was discharged in good condition.
