Teacher Claudia Maria Guerreiro, 53 years old, is the woman who appears in security camera images being dragged by a flood during the storm that hit the city of São Carlos, in the interior of São Paulo, in the late afternoon of this Wednesday ( 28).
In the tragedy, the teacher even collided with a car, as shown in the images.
SAMU was called to assist the victim, who died in the incident in the Azulville neighborhood. According to the Fire Department of São Carlos, the corporation managed to rescue more than 50 victims stranded in the city, all of them alive.
The municipal government informed that the accumulated rainfall in about 18 hours reached 202 millimeters, which represents 87% of the expected for the entire month of December. The storm caused flooding and damaged roads, squares, walls, businesses and vehicles.
Still this Thursday morning (29) São Carlos City Hall counted eight points of total or partial interdictions on the roads because of the rain. Cleaning crews work on draining water and maintaining public spaces since dawn.
