A woman died on Sunday (6) after being run over during a practical driving test in Alexânia, in the interior of the state of Goiás.
According to the State Traffic Department (Detran-GO), the 49-year-old woman was run over by a vehicle driven by another candidate, around 11 am.
The victim was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
The Detran-GO reported that the driver of the vehicle “went to adjust the parking lot at the end of the test and abruptly pressed the accelerator”. In addition to the woman who died, two other people suffered minor injuries.
Finally, the Detran said it was “committed to fully clarifying the facts, requested expertise in the location and in the vehicle used”, and that “the examiner will be removed from his duties until the end of the investigations”.

“It is with immense regret that the State Department of Traffic of Goiás informs the death of candidate Ozeni Alves Teixeira, 49 years old, as a result of an accident during the examining board of vehicle driving practice held this Sunday, the 6th, in Alexânia. The woman was run over by a vehicle driven by another candidate in the test, around 11 am. Rescue was triggered, the victim was taken to the hospital, but unfortunately he couldn’t resist the injuries.
The Detran-GO points out that the entire team, including the examiner who was in the vehicle, helped to help the victims. According to what was initially found, the candidate who was driving the vehicle went to adjust the parking lot at the end of the test and abruptly pressed the accelerator. The vehicle took off on top of three people. The other two suffered minor abrasions. Detran-GO is in solidarity with the victims and makes itself available to provide all necessary support to those involved and their families.
The Detran-GO is committed to fully clarifying the facts. Requested expertise on site and used vehicle. The candidate/driver and the examiner passed a breathalyzer test. The examiner will be removed from his duties until the end of the investigations.
Parallel to the police investigation, the Detran-GO will set up an investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident.”
